Mid-Season Cricket Social – Saturday June 20th

The powers that be have announced that there is to be a mid-season social at the club on Saturday 20th June. (The 2nd’s are at home to Findon and the 1st’s are at Brighton – Free week for the Academy)

It is going to be 90’s themed with a band and BBQ so clear your diaries and dig out those clothes from the bottom of your wardrobe that your were hoping would come back in to fashion.

Timings and costings will be posted, as soon as available.

Matt Warren has been asked to Captain the Duke of Norfolk’s XI v Combined Services tomorrow at the Castle Ground    –    11.30am start

It would be great if as many as possible could go along to support him and the fixture.

The cricket section are having  pre-Christmas drinks at the club on Saturday 13th December. Please wear your favourite Xmas jumpers.

For those who didn’t get/read Ian’s email regarding this year’s cricket dinner, please read on.The Dinner is on Saturday the 1st November at the club.

 
Time 7.00 for 7.30pm. Dress smart casual.
 
This evening of celebration is for players, wives , girlfriends and friends. The more the merrier!
With less than two weeks to go we have no time to dither. Ian needs you to confirm menu numbers and pay for the meals by Monday 27th October. 
The meal this year will be three course and the following are the menu choices;
Starters;
Soup of the day
Prawn Cocktail
Garlic Mushrooms
Main Courses;
Chicken with white wine cream and tarragon sauce
Roast Beef
Baked salmon with lemon and herb crust
Desserts;
sherry trifle
Lemon cheesecake
fruit crumble
All served with cream
The cost of the evening this year is £30 per head. That cost pays for the meal and makes a small contribution to various other costs associated with the evening.
 
Cheques payable to Middleton Sports club can be sent to Ian at: 80, Victoria Drive , Bognor Regis PO21 2TA, or left at the club marked for my attention.
 
We need to give the kitchen as much notice as we can as to what the numbers will be so that they can plan the evening properly so please e-mail Ian your food choices without delay.

1st XI Match Report for 30/08/2014 v Chichester

Middleton will play Premier League cricket next year having been promoted after an emphatic victory over Chichester on Saturday.  Middleton won the toss and Chichester were asked to bat and opening bowlers JamieThompson (4-37) and Brandon Hanley (2-26) made early inroads, bowling a line and length that suited the conditions perfectly and reduced the visitors to 21-4.
